The Digital Front Door Project - ANIMA
The evaluation was carried out in two phases by Healthwatch Kent. We spoke to members of the public at the following GP services as part of the project: Speldhurst & Greggswood Medical Group, Kingswood Surgery, Lonsdale Medical Centre and St Andrews Medical Centre.
In total, we spoke to 209 people in either phase 1 or 2 of the project, as well as 27 staff members.
Our key findings were that ANIMA became the most common method for booking appointments by the second phase of the engagement, overtaking phone calls which were the most common method in phase 1.
There was a 36% increase in the number of same day appointments in phase 2 compared with phase 1. Overall 47% of people we spoke to viewed their experience with ANIMA as positive, whereas 33% of people reported poor experiences.
Our findings from the report have been presented back to the West Kent HCP who have taken our recommendations on board.
