What is your local NHS Trust or KCC doing about Accessible Information?
All NHS organisations and Councils have to legally responsibility to provide information in a way that is accessible to you. This is known as the Accessible Information Standard and it came into law in 2016.
We asked all the Kent NHS organisations along with Kent County Council for an update on their accessibility. Everything they told us is in the report below.
This year we have been visiting NHS organsiations in partnership with East Kent Mencap, to see for ourselves how a patient with additonal needs would be supported when going for an appointment. The findings from these visits will be published later this year.
In the meantime, do read our report and tell us your own experience of visiting a hospital or using a social care service. Call us anytime for free on 0808 801 0102 or email email@example.com. If you need a British Sign Language Interpreter please text us on 07525 861 639.
