It’s Self Care Week!

13/11/2017

As we are coming into winter, christmas gifts and new year plans may take priority over your own everyday health.

That is why this week is a great opportunity to encourage more people to look after their health during these busier months.

Cartoon people holding up the sign saying "self care for life, ask your nurse or GP how you can be self care aware".

Self care is about keeping fit and healthy, understanding when you can look after yourself, when a pharmacist can help and when to get advice from your GP or another health professional. However, if you have a long term health condition, self care is about understanding the condition and how to live with it.

To find advice about minor illnesses, visit NHS Choices, or download Self Care Forum's fact sheets from their website. If you want more information you can talk to your pharmacist, call NHS 111 for advice over the phone or visit your GP.

If you have experiences getting advice from your pharmacist, NHS 111, or your GP, share your experiences with us. Whether it is good or not so good we want to hear it! Click 'Talk to us', email info@healthwatchkent.co.uk or freephone 0808 801 0102
